Homework – It is important for your child to set aside some time each night to study their spelling words, practice math facts, read, and review concepts taught during the day. We have set up a homework routine to help students get in the habit of being responsible for doing homework. Please check your child’s assignment book to see that they are writing in their assignments each day.
- Students have a spelling assignment each day Monday through Thursday.
- Students will have math homework Monday through Thursday .
- Students are to read at least 20 minutes each day outside of the classroom and record pages read on their bookmark.
- Students should study math facts so they know their facts instantly. Five minutes of daily practice will greatly improve their recall!
- Occasionally, some students might bring home work that they didn’t get completed during the day. Students will also need to study for Social Studies and Science tests at home.
Homework will be recorded and circled inside the assignment notebook. If your child does not complete work in class, leaves early or comes in late, he or she will be responsible for completing this work at home and returning it the next day. Some students study better with background music. The YouTube "Music for Studying" videos below can be helpful for some students.
