Academic Program – Nebraska has published standards that identify what students are to know and be able to do. We want to meet and hopefully exceed those standards. Therefore, we have specific goals and objectives that we need to work on throughout the year.
Testing – We will be taking unit tests frequently throughout the year to assess student progress. On Fridays we will usually have a Spelling, Reading, and Language test. Math tests may also fall on a Friday, or will follow after every 5 lessons.
Our State Writing Test will be in late January. It is a test given to all 4th graders that will be sent to the Nebraska State Department for scoring.
MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) are computerized tests given at the beginning of the year and end of the year to identify specific areas of strengths and weaknesses in Reading, Math, and Language that we can use to help students make improvements in their learning.
The NeSA (Nebraska State Accountability) are computerized tests given at the end of the year in Reading and Math to summarize what the students have learned.
